In May I started working from home. My office is a satellite office in my bedroom, however I have been known to take my Apple and my Blackberry on the balcony to have an office with a view. Working from home is a wonderful concept. I don’t have to drive 30 minutes to and from work, so I save gas. Plus I just like being home.
Every now and then though just like any other native, I get restless. It’s always nice to have a night out with the girls to laugh and talk. It’s always amazing when I am out with girlfriends and we share stories of our lives and of our day, so many of us have similar history, and similar paths. It’s a great thing to get together for support and FOOD.
This is a photo of my friend Jill Harris and I, she is a post op too. I met her before her gastric bypass surgery, I think I even made her first protein shake…. it’s amazing we are both so different than we were that day. Watch out for this one, she has transformed into a butterfly…watch her fly!
Jill and I acting like “bad girls” but don’t worry we shared the cannoli with the other girls. While it’s true some of us can’t have any sugar as bariatric post ops, I would much rather have three small bites of HOLY CANNOLI than an entire dessert made with sugar alcohol.
When I walked in the restaurant and was greeted by the owner Ralph Disalvo (The Sicilian Oven) and he could quote my description of Cannoli’s from my FB page, it hit me… I really am a foodie. There is no doubt I have an Italian Pallet. I might add this as a page of my I Hate to Cook Book, I mean why cook when they have Sicilian Lasagna, Pizza, salad and more at The Sicilian Oven.. Check them at Coral Springs, or Light House Point, Florida…..
Leave the gun, grab the cannoli…
Basically we arrived there at 7:00pm a meeting of the girls and when the restaurant closed we went outside and talked and laughed for 2 more hours. Girls night out, we are going to have to schedule this one more often… This one’s for the Girls!
