Do you ever feel like life is just weighing you down? Have felt that way before too. In my life I have learned to be aware of whats weighing me down and let it go before it builds up. It makes life so much easier and drama free. If things are weighing heavy try this little exercise and see if it helps:
Get yourself three notebooks and sit down and tell God everything. In the first notebook put down everything negative, all your frustration, your anger, who’s ticking you off, and what you’re not getting that you feel you deserve. Be honest.Let it all out.
In the second book, write down all the good things in your life, even little things like the joy a pet may bring you, or your favorite plant, anything that gives you pleasure. Try to find something good about the people in your life “My grandma has beautiful skin”, “My mother has beautiful eyes” “my father has strong hands” Try to find positive things about the people who are TROUBLING you or disappointing you. You’ll be surprised.
Then in the third book, write down all your wishes, dreams your desires, all that you could have done. Even write down your sexual fantasies (please don’t insult me by saying you don’t have any, WE ALL DO, it is NORMAL) Nobody else is going to see this, and se is a much bigger part of what we want than most of us will admit.
When you’re done, hold your books up to the light. Sunlight is great, Godlight is the best way to light anything.. Ask God to consider all of the things you have written down. Ask him to clean up your life, past, present and future. Ask for forgiveness and direction. Then tear out just the pages of the books that you’ve used and burn them in a bucket or fireplace somewhere. Don’t even try this unless you can be completely alone, with no distractions. As your thoughts burn, think of it as “holy smoke”-tiny almost invisible particles that will go up to God for him to put back together the way he sees fit.
Now look at the pages left in your books. You have gotten rid of the old, and left room to create Those are the clean white papers on which you can write the rest of your life. You should feel cleansed, forgiven, rejuvenated, and perfect. I always do.
This is a practice I learned over a decade ago… I can’t tell you how many times I almost caught WV on fire when I burned those pages.
I will let you guess where I learned this. I will give you a couple of clues. She is famous, she is wealthy and the more she gives away the more she has, she grew up poor and worked her way up. Let’s see who guesses this first.
Ok, I will tell you.. this came from Dolly Partons book My Life and Other Unfinished Business… Get to writing your life yall!
