Ready or not the New Year is just around the corner! I am ready for all the new, fresh adventure life has in store for me! The past year in review was so busy I can’t always remember if I were going or coming! There was lots of travel, adventure and plus a LOT of working on me. Can we say I am tired!!!
Now, here is the deal. It’s that time of year when we all make resolutions to be better,do better lose weight, eat well exercise more. I can see my lips moving but all I can hear is BLAH, BLAH, BLAH~
One of the things I enjoyed doing this past year was attending bariatric events, and workshops. Obesity Help offered several meetings where post ops could meet other peers, listen to great speakers and meet the vendors. The cities for 2011 have been announced and they include Seattle, Washington…New Orleans, LA and NY… Start saving your pennies and go meet your favorite OH folks.
Last year was a time to try new products, I ventured out and found protein drinks that I love. My list for 2010
1. Click Espresso flavored protein.
2. B-Pro flavorless protein powder.
3. Celebrate Multi Pineapple Strawberry Bariatric Vitamin.
4. Bariatric Advantage Pro Jo RTD Coffee flavored Protein.
5. Chike it is one of those proteins that isn’t talked about much, but I LOVE IT.
This year my friend Andrea finally put some of that knowledge she stores in her head into a lab book for post ops. You can track your labs with this and also have a broad knowledge of the labs you need drawn and why… If you haven’t checked it out, please do. http://wlsvitagarten.com/
I resigned from BE in May, people were amazed and I think some of you even thought I could not live without that job. Oddly enough I became best friends with the person that was hired into to fill my position after she resigned. Her name is Jill and she loves to cook, and be in the kitchen. She is just an amazing person though who brings so much love and light to the world. She has started putting some of her wonderful creations into recipe format and you can check her out at http://jellosjourney.blogspot.com/
So much happened in 2010, there is really no way for me to remember it all. And it’s not really necessary because 2011 is on the horizon. I am looking forward to growing my blog and my life in the new year. Like I said earlier no New Years Resolutions for me, but I do have some goals.
I am on a mission in the New Year to come full circle with my health and wellness. I am going to be stepping up to the plate and sharing my diet as a 7 year post op as well as my exercise and guess what? I am also going to share my triumps AND my times that I dance around the the fire holding a marshmello trying to decide to eat or not to eat.
We all have those feelings don’t we? We think that once we take that first bite of something sinfully delicious it is all over for us. How many times I “dieted” before my WLS and with the first slip I said “Eff it, I am going to eat”
This journey is about believing in ones self, even when we aren’t perfect.
There are going to be some giveaways on my Blog with the New Year. One of the wonderful things about working in the industry for so long is that I know a lot of the vendors and so many of them are more than excited to give back to the bariatric community. Keep your eyes peeled for the details.
My blog has evolved over the years, and I used to imagine when I was living back in WV that someday I would be the Cari Bradshaw writer for bariatrics. I must say I am a cry short from any Sex and The City Episode, but I haven’t met My Big yet!
Click in the New Year with Me and Watch for the First Giveaway on January 6!!! It is the 12th Day of Christmas and you might just have an Epiphany!
I am looking forward to a new year of fun and excitement with all of you…. Let’s Do it!
