Oh, after staring at the scale, crying and regrouping I decided to come up with a plan. After all, I have lost weight before and I have managed to get though WLS so, I can do this too.
With my busy lifestyle fasting is not an option, even though a part of me wants to just step outside each day and digest the sunshine for my daily intake… I will need to eat..
I have decided to approach this in a holistic way, since that is my philosophy. Even though I have stepped off my path and gotten away from my own principal beliefs on nutrition I do believe the way to wellness for me in regards to my weight is to treat myself holistically MIND, BODY And SPIRIT being nourished and exercised… here we go day 1
First of all I started with an affirmation
“I am thin, healthy and well and I have healthy food packed in my lunch bag to nourish me throughout the day”
Then I did an actual written exercise in my Weight Loss Journal this exercise is to help rid me from negativity and move me from the place I am in now… I call this exercise Holy Smoke and credit goes to Dolly Parton, I got this from her book “My Life and Other Unfinished Business”
Do you ever feel like life is just weighing you down? Have felt that way before too. In my life I have learned to be aware of whats weighing me down and let it go before it builds up. It makes life so much easier and drama free. If things are weighing heavy try this little exercise and see if it helps:
Get yourself three notebooks and sit down and tell God everything. In the first notebook put down everything negative, all your frustration, your anger, who’s ticking you off, and what you’re not getting that you feel you deserve. Be honest.Let it all out.
In the second book, write down all the good things in your life, even little things like the joy a pet may bring you, or your favorite plant, anything that gives you pleasure. Try to find something good about the people in your life “My grandma has beautiful skin”, “My mother has beautiful eyes” “my father has strong hands” Try to find positive things about the people who are TROUBLING you or disappointing you. You’ll be surprised.
Then in the third book, write down all your wishes, dreams your desires, all that you could have done. Even write down your sexual fantasies (please don’t insult me by saying you don’t have any, WE ALL DO, it is NORMAL) Nobody else is going to see this, and sex is a much bigger part of what we want than most of us will admit.
When you’re done, hold your books up to the light. Sunlight is great, Godlight is the best way to light anything.. Ask God to consider all of the things you have written down. Ask him to clean up your life, past, present and future. Ask for forgiveness and direction. Then tear out just the pages of the books that you’ve used and burn them in a bucket or fireplace somewhere. Don’t even try this unless you can be completely alone, with no distractions. As your thoughts burn, think of it as “holy smoke”-tiny almost invisible particles that will go up to God for him to put back together the way he sees fit.
Now look at the pages left in your books. You have gotten rid of the old, and left room to create Those are the clean white papers on which you can write the rest of your life. You should feel cleansed, forgiven, rejuvenated, and perfect. I always do.
This is a practice I learned over a decade ago… I can’t tell you how many times I almost caught WV on fire when I burned those pages.
I will let you guess where I learned this. I will give you a couple of clues. She is famous, she is wealthy and the more she gives away the more she has, she grew up poor and worked her way up. Let’s see who guesses this first.
Ok, I will tell you.. this came from Dolly Partons book My Life and Other Unfinished Business… Get to writing your life yall!
To nourish my body I start each day with a meditation to relax and center and focus. Deep breathing clears my lungs and my head. I have decided to incorporate sunshine in my daily plan so I have found a little spot in the back yard where I can sit and take in the sunlight while I sit and just be still for a few minutes.. Breathe… Relax…
For exercise I did some yoga and pilate moves, and plan to work my way up to a more strenuous workout. What do you do for exercise? I need ideas.
My eating for the day went quite well.
Breakfast I started my day with a mug filled with CLick Espresso protein 1 scoop and 1 scoop of Inspire Dutch Chocolate Cake. I drink this like a hot coffee drink.
MID DAY A serving of Isogenic Isolean Creamy Vanilla. Made with cold water from the water cooler at school…
LUNCH Subway Salad with oil and vinegar and a yogurt
Dinner Roasted beets, sweet potatoes, and red onions with goat cheese
NIGHT A Isopure Vanilla Shake plain made with water
I did cheat once because since I reintroduced sweets I crave them… so I had one square of dark chocolate.. I think I can still taste it LOL.
It is very important that I wash my spirit clean of all negativity and release myself of not only the pounds gained but the negative thoughts that go with it… no shame, blame or guilt… breathe…
I have been asking myself questions such as…. what inside me leads me to food for comfort? I reach for a bowl of cereal rather than face my issues. How can I move to a place of healthy choices again?
I believe sticking to this plan and staying accountable to myself with help me get there….
NOW how did you do?? How was your day?? Any ideas or suggestions or thoughts?? Please share.. Introduce yourself.
