Growing up I was a very bright but precocious little girl. As I teenager, I began to battle eating disorders and body dysmorphia. Many years I searched outside myself, searching for love, approval, validation or just attention. These insecurities landed me in an abusive marriage, and to deal with that, I ate to medicate my emotions. Before long I was obese weighing in at 385 pounds. I had two children that were 13 months apart and convinced myself I was stuck in that spot. On September 11, 2003 I had bariatric surgery, and oh WOW how my life has changed!
